Hello. I have a 97 Chevy Lumina (Sedan) with a 3.1l V6. I replaced the compressor to find I have a major leak in the condensor.. (I think. Its the part at the front of the car by the radiator).
Anyways, before I get into this, I just wanted a breakdown on what I have to do to replace it.
Thanks
Paul

The system must be evacuated first. The replacement is straight forward mechanical work. You can see the fittings, some may need special line release tools, when the new condenser is in, the system should be drawn down to see if it holds vacuum, a small amount of compressor oil should be added to system maybe 1-1.5 oz. Then recharged and leak tested. Not really a job for a dyer without the proper ac equipment.

I had intended to just replace the condensor, and have my mechanic do the rest of the work. Just wanted to cut down on some of the labour costs.
