Already talking about the summer of 2003? :)
Be sure to check Summer Sonic, before you decide which one to come.
(People went nuts when GNR (aka Axl and friends) performed at SS this August.

The shops to visit are...
JR Shinjuku Station
Sakuraya Hobby Branch (Kits, paints and supplies at 20% off, decent inventory)
Yellow Submarine (Kits at 10%-15% off, paints and all kinds of supplies are available. Well stocked)

JR Ebisu Station
Mr. Craft (Modeler's brand) (Kits are about 10-20% off, paints and tons of PE and aftermarket parts. Well stocked. One of the largest Car model store in Tokyo.)

JR Akihabara Station
Leonard (Preowned model store. Discontinued kits at hefty markups. Some hard to find kits)

Also, check:
Toyota's Mega Web and Historic Garage in Odaiba.
You don't find any other place, where you can enjoy Nannini Cafe's Italian espresso in front of the Celica WRC and TS020. :)

And maybe Honda Welcome Plaza in Aoyama
