Lanos Multi problems

I have a 2000 Lanos that has really been a thorn in my side. :banghead: I bought the car when it was about 8 months old and it had about 8000 miles on it. Thought I had a good deal, Right? :shakehead Gosh I wish I could push back the hands of time! First, I had an oil change at Walmart one day and a few days later my engine was blown. 6 months of lawyers, inspections and being ignored by Daewoo motors and I finally settled with Walmarts insurance company. Inspection reveled the oil filter was not properly placed and they inspector has a suspicion that the oil wasn't put back in (because of how bad the engine was). At that point the car only had 17,000 miles on it. Anyway, settling allowed me to replace the engine with a brand new factory engine and have some cash to spare. If I had known then what I know now (my car was woth a lot less), I would have purchased a rebuild. Got that taken care of.

Then the engine light started flashing if I went 70 mph or a little more. It would go off when I stopped the engine. Took it to the dealer and they suggested all this stuff that didn't fix it. Then my air conditioning stopped working the following spring. When I asked the dealer about that and if it was something that didn't get put back together when they dropped the new engine, they said no that they wouldn't have touched anything with the air conditioning?? I don't get it since they had to basically pull everything out under the hood to replace the engine. Then after that my engine light went on and stayed illuminated. I just took it to the dealer and my cam sensor was not working properly and even though my car VIN was in the range for the cam sensor recall, mine was not covered because it didn't have the right serial number or some darn thing. So I paid $240 to have that replaced. At the same time they told me a vapor cannister is leaking. That would have been another $180 but I didn't have it so I have to wait. I think I'm going to order it from Daewoo myself and have someone else fix it. But my question is, would that have anything to do with my air conditioning? And would either the cam sensor or vapor canister make my gas mileage suck? :smooch: Another question I have is, do either of those cause emmissions failure?

Also, last winter the blower stopped working in defrost mode. Well it didn't completely stop blowing. It just doesn't deflect to the defrost/windshield. Actually I can't adjust it to the floor either. It just blows out the front vents no matter where you set it. Any ideas what that could be? Unfortunately I'm stuck with this car so I need to try to get it up to par again. Sometimes I wish someone would push it off a short pier. :naughty: But even then I probably wouldn't get anything for it from the insurance company! :disappoin
