I have a 1994 Lumina. This morning, it started fine and drove approximately 1/2 mile with no problems. Then I turned off the car and got out. There was no noise or smell that I noted. When I started the car again, it immediately stopped. Tried again, same thing. If I keep my foot on the gas peddle, it runs fine. But the minute I brake or take my foot off the gas peddle, it dies. Any ideas what it might be?

Thanks!

Kitka

Make sure it didn't huff back and blow a vacuum line off when it shut down before the trouble started....that'll make them act like that. Look all around the intake and throttle body for any lines laying loose...

You might check for trouble codes. If it won't idle, I usually think about the idle air system. You might clean the throttle-body, even if it doesn't help, it's a maintenance issue.

check for trouble codes, as it sounds like a bad throttle position sensor.
