swapping rimsecnar 04-25-2007, 11:33 AM Hi, I have a 99 Silverado 4x4 ext cab. I now have the factory steel 16x6.5 inch rims with 245/75/16 tires on my truck. I have a set of aluminum 16x7 inch rims from a 2002 suburban that I want to install. Will the factory lug nuts work on the aluminum rims or do they require a different lug nut. Both sets of rims have the plastic center caps that attatch to the lug nuts. I plan to put a set of 245/75/16 kumho road venture at tires on the aluminums. Thanks, ecnar TexasF355F1 04-25-2007, 09:14 PM They should work. I believe a fellow member, BlenderWizard, has done something similar. He'll check in soon. Thanks, ecnar It should work, as long as the lug nuts are rounded on the side that seats to the rims... I switched my 16x7 to 20x8.5 silverado SS rims and they bolted up right up no problems:grinyes: BlenderWizard 04-26-2007, 11:41 AM They should work. IIRC the lugs were the same, but don't quote me on that ecnar 05-02-2007, 02:51 PM It fits! (x4). Thanks for the help. I had the the rims installed with the new tires I got on Ebay. The seller had a local shop and I was able to see the tires up front before I bought them. I got Electra Ironman LT 66 tires made by Hercules tire. They have the same thread pattern as Hercules terra trac mt. They cost me $409 installed. I will try to get pics soon. TexasF355F1 05-02-2007, 09:51 PM Congrats man! Glad you're happy and everything worked out in your favor.:) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
