It seems that my Jeep Cherokee is having some technical difficulties.
When I first begin driving in the morning it acts entirely normal. Later on, like at a stop sign or light, I push on the accelarator and it feels like the emergency brake is on even though it isnt. It only lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes. Both the check ingine and check gauges lights appear. Also when this happens the battery gauge sky rockets.
My dad was messing around with it today and found that putting it first gear and then shifting it up to third and then to drive makes it run correctly.
I have had numerous people tell me it could be my alternator and my father thinks my transmission could be bad, but the problem isnt always there. He also thinks it could be my solenoids.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Get a code from it. NSS could do it...or as they call it some times...Prdnl switch.
