I am getting ready to build up my 454 and would like to get some opinions on trannies as this is my first high power build. From what i can tell she will be putting out at least 700 horses and with good luck i think i may be able to put her into the 800s.

I would suggest a built-up THM 400.

I agree with MagicRat. Hard to break TH400...

What kind of blower are you planning? Compression? Cam? 700 HP is pretty mild for a BBC with a blower... Is this a play-toy streeter?

Never Mind... Just went out to chop the engine out of the truck (what I was told to be a 454) and found that it was actually a SB. So I pulled the numbers and found it to be a 350 chevy. I think the horses kicked me in the balls as they flew out the window.
