My power steering fluid is below the minimum level and I've asked around what type of fluid to fill it up with. I had bought some "Gunk" power steering fluid that says "Meets service requirements of GM, Ford, Chrysler, and AMC" but it is a clear liquid compared to a brownish liquid in the car. Should I use this stuff or get something else?

What year is the car? Know that on my daughter's 2000 Escort ZX2 it calls for Dexron transmission fluid. If it's brown it's dirty regardless of whether its PS fluid or ATF.

It calls for ATF.
