a guy in my area is selling a 88 crx, and he said something about it "has the round back end". what in the world was he talking about? did some of the 88s have a different shaped rear?

i searched about this and didn't see anything. then STD sugested i post it here, which is much better then my idea to PM every member on this board till i got an answer. :thumbsup:

Got a pic? They changed the design from 87 to 88 so maybe he is referring to the 2nd gen style.

84 - 87 CRX's have the "square" rear deck... in other words, after the hatch, it just kinda "drops off" on both sides... 88-91 CRX's have a round rear deck... it gently slopes off in an arc on both sides, and has glass in the rear hatch and the sections directly adjacent to it. easy as that.

Other than that, both rear sections are flat as you're looking at them... the 2nd gen bumper sticks out a lil more... but the lights and sheet metal all are flush... so "flat."

Or maybe the guy doesn't know what he's talking about and probably thinking that the civic hatchback is the crx.
