Emergency Brake Problemsylikebeef 04-17-2007, 03:58 PM 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3 V6 extended cab My truck was fitted with air suspension and during the time, the kit required the emergency brake cables to be located. Intead, I had the temporarily "unhooked" and placed to the side. I recently had the airbags relocated and put the cables back onto the hooks. I tried to get a safety inspection and they informed me that it is locking, but not strong enough to prevent the car from inching. Is it from not using the e-brake for almost is year that is causing this problem? any suggetsions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Scrapper 04-17-2007, 05:20 PM i'd say so once you use e-brake you have to keep using them..i'd try to ajust them a little to get more e-brake that's not passing inspection.. good luck as always.... rjeffery 04-18-2007, 10:05 AM These E-Brakes are crappy. Mine failed inspection last year too. I was going to replace the brake shoe, but figured out that I could adjust it at the shoe. So I tightened it up and it passed. chuck16 04-18-2007, 11:43 AM The Ebrake I will admit isn't the greatest but, after I changed my shoes and adjusted it properly it works great even on the steepest of inclines. 2 Years later and it's still like brand new. I think the previous owner had it rubbing cause there wasn't much left of the old shoe. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
