98 Toyota Sienna Whining Soundranger66 04-16-2007, 10:59 PM My 98 Sienna has a loud whining sound that can be heard inside the cabin. It sounds like its coming from the front of the vehicle. I read some old postings that someone was experiencing the same thing but nobody answered him. Anybody else run across this and what was done to fix it? I would like to sell this vehicle but I can't until this is repaired. Thanks artrip36 05-05-2007, 03:25 PM My 98 Sienna has a loud whining sound that can be heard inside the cabin. Thanks How many miles does your sienna have on It? have you had your timing belt changed yet? toyota reccomends it done around 90K. worn out belts sometimes start to whine and whirr when they start to become loose and stretched. very important to have changed because when it breaks it will leave you on the side of the road with an even larger repair bill than what you would have had for just a belt change. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
