A/C blowing fog and won't defrost windowschadq100 04-16-2007, 03:11 PM My 1997 LeSabre recently started blowing this Fog through the vents that smells like antifreeze. I suspect the heater core is the problem but it is odd to me that it stops blowing this fog when I turn the heater on. Also on cool nights it won't defrost the windows. Any Ideas? maxwedge 04-16-2007, 05:34 PM Welcome to AF> Yeah, like you said heater core! imidazol97 04-16-2007, 07:57 PM My 1997 LeSabre recently started blowing this Fog through the vents that smells like antifreeze. Are you going to try to change it out yourself? chadq100 04-17-2007, 09:15 AM I have a friend who is going to try and change it this weekend. Any suggestions? Mechanics giving me estimates between $350-$400. Ouch! imidazol97 04-17-2007, 09:38 AM I have a friend who is going to try and change it this weekend. Any suggestions? There is a kind of plier for reaching and releasing those clamps. chadq100 04-17-2007, 01:05 PM Thanks, does the dash board have to come off to do this job?? My friend has never done this before but definitely has experience working on vehicles. How long does this typically take for beginners? maxwedge 04-17-2007, 03:40 PM Mitchell book time is 2.5, add 50% for a first timer on this. imidazol97 04-17-2007, 04:30 PM Thanks, does the dash board have to come off to do this job?? Remove the glovebox lid. That should give enough access. The lid on the heater box over the end is held on by two screws and some sealant caulking if I remember what someone posted after they did it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
