yes it's possible.

If you're talking about Gen 3 3S-GTE's, of course its possible to put one in a MK2. They came in all JDM 94+ MR2 turbos, like mine. However, I'm yet to see any MK2's with Gen 4 engines.

There's actully 4 generations of 3SGTE, the gen 4 version is in the GT-T Caldinas and has received a number of revisions since it's use in the last of the MR2's. There are clear external differences such as direct fire ignition and a side feed intake manifold, and translation of the japanese blurb suggests revisions to the pistons, rods and turbo as well. It has 260ps, but Just to be perfectly clear though, this version was never used in the MR2. QUOTE from KiwiMR2

I've heard that too on the MR2 board. What I meant to say is that I've never seen anyone who has installed a Gen 4 into a MK2, however, there's probably someone in America that's done it by now (certainly none in Australia). BTW, do the Gen 4's still have CT20B turbos, or do they have something else?
