96xj 4.0 Spark plug gapthinmints 04-14-2007, 05:10 PM has anybody ever heard of gapping your plugs wider than what the MFG calls for ( i think its .35) is there an advantages to doing this ( better fuel economy?) or is it for more power PS i just saw Disturbia:banghead: save your money:nono: AlohaBra 04-14-2007, 08:34 PM No... Excess plug will cause retarded timing, while the ignition waits and waits until enough voltage is generated by the coil in order to jump the plug gap. Retarded timing causes a lot of power and efficency. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
