ok heres my problem- when i step on the gas, i get nothing..literally. the only way i can get any speed is to put the car in low, and goose the pedal up to about 3.5k rpm, then shift into 2cnd, goose some more, finally getting to a top speed of about 42 mph. (this whole process takes about a mile)
i've changed the fuel filter, and i know the pump is working.. i've even gone so far as to take the air filter off, to see if it's air flow problems.... i'm totally lost.. if the thing had a carberator, i would know what to do, but i know nothing about the sensors and other electronic nonsense thats under my hood. any help would be greatly appreciated, i'm truly stuck without my vehicle.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The first thing to do is to check for any fault codes. There is a manual for the 94 (generation 3) stickied at the top of this forum. You can download it for free. It will have the instructions on how to check for engine fault codes in the emission controls section.

Welcome to the AF!

Is the engine missing or does it have low power smoothly?

Low power without missing may be a clogged cat. converter or muffler.
