Quick Question

I have a camaro with a 12 inch jl and a 600 watt alpine amp, if i wanted to take the system out for a weight advantage when im at the track and stuff, will i have to reset everything when i put it back in and plug everything in?

Unless you disconnect power from your heead unit...no. Sub/Amp settings are all dials, and stay the same until you move them. If you are just removing your subs and amp, you will be fine. The only settings that would ever change is if you disconnect power from the head unit, causing that to lose it's memory.

Alrite, thanks, i just wanted to make sure, cause on my amp, you have to have a special tool to get to the settings and i didnt want to screw all that up, but thanks for the anwser

What kinda tool? As fars as I knew, u just use a screwdriver to set the gains, a switch for the filter, etc.

To much effort to gain maybe a tenth in the quarter. Every 100lbs is worth that. You can gain that if you can perfect your launches.

But like stated the gains stay there until you move it.

I know someone that has the amp and sub box in the hatch and it's wired thru a couple of "receptacles" in the back on the side. To move the box/amp just requires that you disconnect the RCA cable, aouto turn-on and power/gnd wires. The wires go with the box, so the hatch area is completely empty when removed.

Thats what i call easy access.

Thats like the guys that go to midnight madness and they remove the rear seat, spare tire jack, subs, passenger seat. I know that a tenth in the 1/4 is the difference between a win and a loss. But most of the time its bracket racing and keeping a perfect launch and consistent times will get a win not the fastest time. I think if your going to make a drag car make a drag car if you want a street car and want to see what it runs, keep the system in you wont have time to remove the stuff for a street race (for those that do it). Every 100 lbs is worth about a tenth, like i said getting a better reaction time gets the same results. But i cant stand removing my enclosure, but i guess that im one of the few with a box that wieghs over 150lbs.

yeah, my box weighs 112 lbs.... and it only has a single 12" in it, sealed.

mine is only 30 lbs but i got 2 plus it is only 3/4" mdf

You guys have seen pics of my box so you have an idea why. Im going to be building the other one in a few weeks now that i got my new amp hooked up

^I guess I haven't seen pics, lol. Mine probly weighs 70 to 80 lbs I would guess, not completly sure
