I just bought a 98 SE. The manual says that the DRL's should only turn the headlights on at reduced power. When I shift the car in to gear all the lights come on including tailights, full power headlights, instruments, etc. I have read the threads on how to disable the DRLs but I would rather just make them work correctly. Any ideas? Thanks.

Check the light sensor on top of the dash, it might have an open circuit in it.

Good Luck

Or check to see if something is blocking it.

You are right on. Nothing was blocking it but I found out that I accidently pushed it down through the hole while scraping off an old inspection sticker. I felt it happen but thought it was just a plastic fill plug. After getting in there and remounting it properly it works fine. Thanks for your help!
