Headlight Wiper Blade Removal

Ok, I confess my ignorance.
I very recently picked up a rather nice little 97 850 and am in the process of doing the oil change, trans fluid, timing belt and all that good stuff. While letting the oil drain I wanted to change the headlight wiper blade. Just the blade without the arm. Simple right? Should be but somehow the release of the blade is evading me. I haven't obtained better reference material yet so all I have is a Haynes manual. It says to just pull it off. It actually looks like it might work but a moderate pull just has it laughing at me.
I could probably pull the engine before I get this right.
Anyone done one of these recently? Halp! :)
