Noise when Clutchinghawaiimike 04-09-2007, 04:13 AM Hello, I just purchased a Nissan Xterra. I have wanted one for so long and finally got one. I bought a 2006 Xterra S (manual transmission) with about 19K miles on it. One and only one thing bothers me. When clutching, especially at higher RPM there is a noise I can't explain. It almost sounds as if I hit the gas but even if I clearly remove my foot from the gas and then clutch it still makes the noise. Almost sounds as if the engine RPM is dropping faster than normal. But I don't think it is. I have had no problem with the transmission or engine. The noise has always existed. The truck feels fine. The dealer said he can't hear it. I am just trying to reassure myself. IF anyone has any experience with the manual transmission I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance!!! skibum1111 04-09-2007, 09:52 PM It's a normal engine noise. It's the engine drawing air through a closed throttle body. hawaiimike 04-10-2007, 02:52 AM Thanks Skibum. I kind of thought it was something like that but wanted to ease my mind. Thanks again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
