Head Codes

Is there a way to tell which d series had is which?? I noticed on my motor there is a pm3-2 code on the front of the head. I also have another head that is a pm3-8. Is there a list somewhere of which code goes with which head??

Hmm - not sure if that list is entirely true - supposedly both of the numbers I listed were supposed to be a6 heads. Guess I'll have to keep searching.

This list is entirely screwed up. First of all, the number after the head code is only what casting line it was made on. The two digit numbers separated by a slash is the year of the head. Whoever made that list is retarded.

So, is there another way to tell which head is which besides that code?

since the cam is the only diff between the D15B2 and D16A6 heads, maybe there is a casting mark on the cam gear?

my D16 cam has "PM3B" and "041" stamped into it.
My D15 says "PM3B" and "9N1"
