Buzz/Grinding electrical noise coming from dashLTZ9C1 04-06-2007, 03:49 AM I have a 2000 S-10 2WD and I've had this buzz, grinding electrical kinda sounding noise for the past 4 years. At idle I can hear it but more once I accelerate and gets louder when I let off the gas pedal. It starts to grind and buzz like an electrical transformer would after getting hit by lightning.......annoying like a mofo Any clues what is making this crazy noise? Dealerships are stumped also. Thanks in advance. muddog321 04-08-2007, 10:08 AM I'd look at a few of the common stranger things that I have had. 1. PCV valve rattle mormost at idle comes along the throttle cable if the plastic tie down on the drivers side of the intake breaks off - common after lower intake done. Resecure and possible PCV valve replace if aftermarket and check the valve cover grommet - yep it happens. 2. 99-01 have secondary air injection and that has check valves in the exhaust manifolds that always fail - internal spring and also rust out - see info in the How To on these. 3. Now if a more gurgaling sound thats the heater core. 4. Then possible relay chatter so listen in the underhood block or behind the glove box is the flasher/blinker one. Hope its one of them! Thanks, problem solved.......FINALLY!!!  :iceslolan It was the throttle cable hitting the PCV valve. The dealership said it was my fuel pump.......bastids!!!
