The tire pressure warning light came on three months ago and won't go off. Tire pressures are all OK How do I turn it off?

Backstory: The dealer serviced the vehicle, including checking and topping up tire pressures, but the light's still on. (Dealer said it would go off by itself by the time I got home, but nope).

As far as I know, you can't turn it off. It should reset it's self if it is a least above the minimum tire pressure that causes it to go off in the first place. I think they go off at 26 psi. Not sure on that point though. You might have a bad transmitter inside one of the tires.

My wife has this system on her 04' Nissan Quest. In the summer, it's great. It tells you right away if it senses lost psi, and sure enough when I look at all the tires, most times I have a nail or screw in it. Now in the winter, I have to bump up the psi to 37-38psi because if not, the tire warniing light comes on alot during those sub zero cold snaps.

The system keeps you on your toes, which I guess is good when it comes to your tires.

Thank you. I'll see if pumping up the tires some more does the trick.

I did a nitrogen fill on my 06, light only came on once this past winter, temp was somewhere around -25. Other than that, the only problem I had was a bad sensor on one wheel, simple fix at the dealer. If the light doesn't come off, you can always remove the bulb as this won't affect any other systems on the vehicle.

You cannot remove the bulb, as the cluster lights are LED's wired into the circuit board.

Tire Pressure Monitor Reset Procedure
The TPMS will activate only when the vehicle is driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h). Also, this system may not detect a sudden drop in tire pressure (for example a flat tire while driving).

The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) for several minutes to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure.

*Note:
TPMS malfunctions may occur for a variety of reasons, including the installation of replacement or alternate tires or wheels on the vehicle that prevent the TPMS from functioning properly.

CAUTION: Do not inject any tire liquid or aerosol tire sealant into the tires, as this may cause a malfunction of the tire pressure sensors.
When a spare tire is mounted or a wheel is replaced, tire pressure will not be indicated, the TPMS will not function and the low tire pressure warning light will flash. Contact your NISSAN dealer as soon as possible for tire replacement and/or system resetting.

Thank you - however the tire pressures are all fine and the tires and wheels are all original factory, and i have driven the vehicle for three months with the TPMS warning light on. Can it be reset or does this basically mean that one of the sensors is on the blink?

I would be taking it to the dealer then.

Uh, yeah, that's a warranty issue. Try another dealer if necessary.
