O2 sensor removal

Any hints on trying to break one of these bad boys loose?? I started with a wrench, then penetrating oil, then a little heat... gave up and put electrical tape around the wiring that had the insulation burnt off making the fuse pop and turning on the engine light (due to the dealer not hanging the wires up above the exhaust after pulling the tranny - but that's a story for a different day) --- seems to be working fine now, but I need to replace it when I get a chance....

I used a 1/2" breaker bar with a pipe on the end of it. Did someone say it would take one more jerk?

Snap On does make a special wrench for oxygen sensors,it has a breaker bar handle on it and is not cheap, about $85.00 for it.I have seen one and it does work.If the threads are messed up,it is an 18mm x 1.50 thread. There are sockets out there for oxygen sensors and most auto parts stores sell them. Most new oxygen sensors have anti seize compound on them already.
