New car for about 25k.

I'll be in the market for a new car in about August or so... Currently I'm in Europe and I'll be returning to the states, and I'll be needing a car. I have about 25k tops from my company. I need a car that handles decently, has a good engine and with a 5 speed or better tranny. I'll be making long distance drives (Portland, OR to SF/LA, California) atleast once a year and would like the back seat to have a reasonable amount of leg room for a guy about 6 feet tall... I want to get some input about these cars in the list... Thanks!

I've driven a 9-3 turbo before and was an absolute blast to drive (was a 5 speed). Handling is good, not great. Passat is really roomy in front and back IMO, both sedan and wagon. Pretty fast cars also, handles well, but i've only been in "tiptronic" automatic ones.
