Didn't seem like too bad of a race... the short track stuff is a bit boring. They don't get much over 120mph.

I'd like to see what the COT does on a highspeed track in traffic...

i thought the race was decent, but not quite as exciting as bristol normally is. it seemed like drivers were being more cautious because of the uncertainties that come along with the new car. IMO the short tracks are better than the 1.5 high speed tracks, more passing and excitment in general. the busch race was very fun to watch, if you watched that. i thought it was excellent. as far as kyle busch goes, he did well and he was lucky it was jeff burton behind him at the end. im not a fan of kyle busch at all, but i loved his post race comments on the COT because i think the car is flat out stupid. it looks like crap and its slower. it doesnt handle as well and its worse aerodynamically. all the safety stuff they did could have been done to the current cars. so thats just stupid IMO. i thought it was pathetic, but almost funny how the front splitter was cutting down tires on other cars. Juan Montoya didnt do to well either in the race, however i didnt expect him to. nothing against him but hes a rookie at bristol. just as i said before, this track weeds em out.

one thing i loved about the old cars was watching the front end drop on the short tracks, the COT cant have its suspension set up as well because of rules regulations. it limits suspension travel.

im excited for next week too. i love martinsville, some may think im crazy for it idk. i think these short tracks seperate the best from the rest as far as drivers go. its fun to watch how the really good ones go about the race (passing and such).

i didnt get to watch it but i did listen to it. it sounded like a good race but u know how those prn boys over hype ever battle on the track. it seemed like a lot of bitching about the car and seemed that jp is not as good as i thought he was. i realize he prob never drove on a track close to the layout of bristol BUT STILL COME ON i was wondering if next week was cot as well

i just saw some vid of the race and i dont think the cot looked that bad i kinda liked the wing i just really really hate the spliter and how it makes the car look truckish but it seemed like a lot giving next week i think there will be a lot more of taking and then it would be a better race

Thoughts.....

Bristol - a racing mecca, one of the greatest tracks ever, soon to be disgraced. The race? crap, oh boy, another green-white-checker style race. :bs:

Kyle Busch - Anybody notice how when something big in Nascar is happning, and alot of eyes are watching, one of it's "bad boys" has to be the winner of the week? Oh, another question (since I didn't watch the end of the race for the first itme in a long time due to boredom.) , what were Busch's exact comments on the car??? Seems to not be on Nascar.com, huh, weird :dunno:

C.O.T. - I was about to yell at my kids thinking they put the "Fast and the Furious" on when I first saw the cars, then it dawned on me, oh, yeah, car of tommorow time :( . Summary of the car, one time use, disposable race car, hits wall once, useless there after. But the driver is okay, much like he was in the 'current' car, he just has oh, 50 more laps to do interviews while the crew tries, foolishly tries, to get the car in good enough shape to maybe do put road speed.

i agree bristol is soon to be disgraced.

busch's comment were, i may not be exact, "I still hate these cars, I can't stand to drive them. They suck." That was on national TV too right in victory lane.

So, damn, I missed the best of the whole 4 something hours then :(
