I have a 1968 buick riviera, and when i add coolant to the radiator the fluid leaks out of the engine. I have been told it may be leaking from a freeze plug? I dont know if that is what it could be. if it is are they hard to change?

Welcome to AF. Uh, how about getting under there and seeing where it is coming from exactly then post back, the question is too vague without a proper diagnisis. 401 engine?

i looked at the problem more today and it was leaking from what looked like a round plug in the side of the engine. It was blue. I have no idea how to change the plug, is it hard?

If you are inexperienced changing block core plugs have it done by a pro., too risky with an old rare engine such as this.

ok thanks, and you can have these changed without pulling the engine right?

Yes as long as you have access to get a punch and hammer in there to get at it.

i got the one plug changed, and had to do one on the other side as well. the one was easy but we had to take off the exaust manifold to get to the other one. It was real easy to use rubber plugs instead of the metal ones. Now i have to work on getting the car started.
