Hey,

I just got a 2005 Rendezvous and I noticed that the Rotors (http://www.buickforum.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=871&PN=1&TPN=1#) are incredibly rusty not like falling apart rusty like just bright rust color on the surface. Is this normal? Should I replace them? With what kind? I had heard that slotted rotors were better performing, anyone wanna give a tip?

I've been told that this is normal...just surface rust. I have even seen brand new cars with a bit of rust on the rotors, as well. I've asked the dealers and they have said this doesn't affect performance and that it is normal...especially here in the rainy Pacific Northwest. I found it odd, though, but I've seen it even on my own cars and haven't notice anything unusual.

I noticed this after it rained then we drove it around all day and it was gone. Odd as it is a 05. I think I am still going to go with some slotted rotors for better performance anyway.

I put a nice set of nickel plated KVR rotors on my Z28. (pic below). They looked great new until the plating wore off where the pads make contact with the rotors. Now, every time I wash the car and let it sit for awhile, rust appears on the rotors. Well at least the hub part & cooling fins still look good!
The only rotors that will not rust, are made of Stainless Steel! Big $$$$
Good luck!
