my fiance has a 2003 chvy avalanch. i am leasing a 2005 honda civic ex model. i live in ohio and was wanting to know about a good 4runner. looking at 2004 or better. his avalanch is a gas hog as most of you know.lol i can go 3 weeks on my civic however i want a 4wheel drive vehicle and i need to know what is better.

gas milage, year, v6 vs v8, tranny problems i have heard about reading the forums, we wont be towing anything, mainly a snow driving. i like power and unfortunatly have a lead foot. i like the engine sound when it revs up. i am also looking for longevity and saftey.
what would you recommend
mainly v6 vs v8

4runner the newer the better. But gas mileage and SUVS do not go hand and hand.

I still like rav4s the newer the better. Pretty much has the best compromises of them all.

IMO, the V8 is a (slightly) better truck.

I agree with Brian.

Ive had my 2003 V-8 Sport Edition for a few months. I covered all my bases and did homework on which model to buy when i shopped.

I went with the V-8 over the 6 cuz the MPG was NOT that much better on the 6, and the 8 had AWD vs. a 4WD switching transaxle. Has a tow package too and i feel the response is better as well. Plus, i just figured if i was gonna do this, then i wasnt going to skimp.

Just remember to keep up with the scheduled Toyota Maintenence!!!
