I have two questions tranny and UIM/LIMshowshocka2k 03-17-2007, 11:53 PM or is that three...Hello. I'm new here and I have two questions if anybody wants give it a hand. I have a 1997 sse anniversery edition and I’ve had one engine put in already, now this engine I have now is doing the same thing my old engine was doing, a bunch of white smoke coming out the exhaust and my antifrezze keeps going to low coolant indication. But before all of this, I would maybe be driving 30- 40 mph. and when I go to punch it for any reason or another I get one big tranny slip. And have to try again with success. Do these two things have anything to do with one another if anybody has had this problem before? Is a sensor gone bad for my slipping or what? very very fustrated... :banghead: maxwedge 03-18-2007, 10:49 AM Sounds like intake manifold issues, the famous UIM or a head gasket, either way you need to get this looked at asap, trans slip is not usually related to this issue. No sensor for slipping, You could get it scanned on a trans function scannner for slippage errors, this assumes the fluid is full and clean. showshocka2k 03-18-2007, 01:34 PM this assumes the fluid is full and clean. yep... thats all good showshocka2k 03-20-2007, 09:26 AM this is what the top of my LIM looked like once i pulled my UIM..so what you think?...see all of the antifreeze in there http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t249/showshocka2k/lim.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t249/showshocka2k/LIM2.jpg maxwedge 03-20-2007, 09:33 AM Is the egr passage at the throttle body deteriorated, Napa/Dorman has the upper with all the gaskets and such for about 150.00 showshocka2k 03-20-2007, 09:53 AM well im waiting on this now http://www.automotivepartsnetwork.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=229679 and what is supposed to be in tha area where all "that" antifreeze is anyway? oil, nothing, gas...i notice that theres a tube that comes down on the inside of my UIM looking like it's supposed to deposite something down in that area....what is it suopposed to be? and no my EGR is not detorated my plastic UIM is a little though and i have a nothing smaller size EGR coming with my order too maxwedge 03-20-2007, 01:29 PM Looks good, and cheap. Wonder who makes it. Coolant is an issue try and find out where this is coming from, should never be any where the pic shows. I'd do the lim gskts just for insurance here. showshocka2k 03-21-2007, 12:44 AM I'd do the lim gskts just for insurance here. yeah i took the the whole LIM off too. gaskets where all hosed up... drained my oil today and it was about a quart of coolant in it....got the new alluminum ones from GM...i guess thats why my car wouldnt start in the end before i started the repair because of so much antifreeze the upper UIM is an APN Brand from this guy, who's called a bonneville "Gearhead"...he's a god on bonnevilles......http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2199 showshocka2k 03-22-2007, 02:29 AM UIM / LIM meaning: Upper Intake Manifold and Lower Intake Manifold vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
