I saw one at the wreckers, but it doesn't look like it'll fit into the dash of my civvie 91. Actually, except for the digital speedo part, it almost looks like the gauges in my father-in-laws 92 Roadmonster. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the link Kdrolt. I read everything thoroughly but just have a few observations:

The tach wire under the hood is mentioned as a connection point, but I have yet to see a Caprice with remote coil ignition to have that tach wire. For the past six months I've been looking at coils in GM B bodies and C/K trucks in case I find a nice shiny new one. The wrecker I go to once a week has stock of around 250 GM vehicles which only stay in the yard around 2 to 3 weeks before being crushed. When I was there yesterday, there was two 9C1's, five or six std Caprices, and five or six C1500/2500 trucks. On the other hand, my 92 truck has the underhood tach wire, and so does every truck I look at!?! Maybe the general figured nobody would be attaching an aftermarket tach to a late model B body.

I took the dash trim for the 9C1 speedo. There were two 9C1's there yeserday; I chose the trim from the 93 as it was in better shape, but it was the same as the 91. Just wondering though, the trim has a square hole to the right of the radio which seems to lead nowhere. I have to look at grumpies 92 Roadmonster, but I'm thinking the trim may actually be Buick.

I'm thinking that if one had enough time, rather that fooling with the harness to adapt the 9C1 speedo, why not take the harness from the donor car complete back to the computer, if thats where it goes? I got as far over as the glove box, but it was cold and pouring rain, and didn't want to get any more soaked, but I think I was near the end.

The 91-93 copcars had factory tachs as part of the 9C1 copcar instru cluster. NONE of the other TBI cars had the tach wire. So you either have to plumb your own, OR you can tap into the wire going to the ECM. Both will methods work.

That's the hole for a spare change holder. The holder itself is a small plastic box that screws into the dash support in 2 or 3 places with small screws.

That would be, IMO, a lot more work.... but I suppose you could do it.

Yes, went back yesterday and grabbed the holders. They are attached with two screws. I never noticed the change holder before as the cars are always piled two high with full size rwd cars at the bottom and about five feet between cars, so it's always fairly dark inside.

BTW, the hole is for the spare change holder on 9C1's, but the LTZ emblem covers that hole completely on a civvie car. I have a 1991 LTZ sales brochure with a picture of the dash.
