96 Tahoe Remote Start Problem

Okay guys, I made a stupid mistake and lost one of my remote start fobs. I got a replacement off of ebay that matches the FCC ID number of the original and is even the same brand. I also have a remote door lock/unlock fob that appears to be oem. It has a different FCC ID number and operates at a different frequency I believe. Oddly enough both work to lock/unlock doors.
Anyway, I lost one of the remote start fobs. The remote starter is an Autostart AS-1424 (I think). The transmitter programming instructions for most Autostart units indicate that you need to flash the hood pin to go into program mode. There is a program assist button on the start unit, but I am not sure that it was wired into the hood switch since it does not seem to go into program mode when pressed. Where is the hood pin switch on the 96 Tahoe???
Thanks.

There isn't one on a Tahoe and most installers are too lazy to install one. If they did, it's usually a cheap pin switch that's in a drilled hole either in the fender or radiator core support. Also, if the car was in an accident after the install, most bodyshops don't reinstall those either.

ponch, thanks for the reply. I thought maybe I was just missing something obvious. When I did some more research on the whole remote programming thing I ran across a note in another Autostart manual (why can't they put it all in the one you need?) that on vehicles with daytime running lights you will not see your parking lights blink in program mode. This seems a bit odd since I do see them blink when I use my good remote, but okay. Now to overcome this little setback. Thanks again for the response.
