Hi All,

I know I have asked this before, and this thread will probably be moved, but here goes again.

I am DESPERATELY looking for either; the original Citicorp decal sheet, or the full kit. I need this to complete a super detailed version of the Citicorp car.

If there is anyone out there that can help me, I would be as gratefull as hell!!.
I know I could pick one up off e-bay, but i would sooner give the people in the forum a go.

The original Tamiya kit with the Citicorp markings (24002) was rereleased about three or four years ago. After a short run, Tamiya updated the kit slightly (adding clear headlight parts), and releasing it with the new Jagermeister scheme. The rerelease of 24002 was recent enough that I would probably try kit part replacement methods first. Start by contacting whatever branch of Tamiya services your market, and if that fails move onto HLJ or Rainbow 10. Can't say if S27 has done this scheme as I've never looked. If you get the decals than geting ahold of the Jagermeister version should be easy. Ebay could work well also- the availibility of the Jagermeister version should keep the Citicorp rerelease from getting particullarly high.

On the other hand, the Tamiya kit might not be the best place to start for a superdetailed build. The body shape is decent and the engine and cockpit are good, however the chassis is a different story. It was Tamiya's second 1/24 kit, designed in an era when 1/24 kits were typically motorized carpet crawlers. As such, suspension, dirvetrain, underbody and exhaust details are poorly rendered. Esci also did a batmobile 320- it's an old kit and may take some work to find, but it may have a better chassis for superdetailing.

Got any good reference for the Citicorp car(s)? I've had a difficult time turning anything up for it- certainly not enough to do a decent superdetail attempt.

Hi MPWR,
Thanks for the response,

The Tamiya kit is way different to the ESCI/REVELL kits, so the decals don't work. As I said, I have the Revell kit, which is a re-release of the Esci kit.
Give me a few minutes and I will e-mail you all the references I have for the citicorp car.

I just took a look through my Tamiya reissue. The decals are done in such a way that you can use the blue/blue/red stripe decals, or paint the stripes on yourself. None of the sponsor decals are embedded in the stripes, they get put on overtop. If you're willing to paint the stripes on yourself and the sponsor scheme is a good match for the car you're doing, the Tamiya decals would be a perfectly good way to go. I expect they will also be much easier to find and in better shape than an old ESCI set.
