96 3.1 Oil in Coolantrun4ever 03-14-2007, 07:16 AM I have oil in my coolant and was told that I need the intake manifold gasket replaced..again! I just had this done about a year and a half and 20,000 miles ago. The vehicle runs fantastic otherwise (160,000 miles) and I sure can't afford to replace it right now, I have 3 in college. I called the garage that did the work for me, and they said that Chev. has finally redesigned the gasket. Anyone know if this is true? Incidentally, I also have a 98 Lumina and an 02 Impala that both had these gaskets replaced. Now my second one on the 96! Cheaper than a new car though. cf1 03-14-2007, 01:20 PM I have oil in my coolant and was told that I need the intake manifold gasket replaced..again! Hope this is the latest updated FelPro's with new intake bolts and torquing procedures! run4ever 03-16-2007, 07:20 PM I stopped at the garage today and was assured that they'll use the latest gasket kit with the new bolts. I also asked them to put in green antifreeze when they're done, I've had it with Dexcool. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
