Nothing serious, just yet. I've got some Volk Racing wheels ordered, and plan on mounting Pilot Sport A/S on them. That'll be a few weeks, at least. Not that I'm unhappy about the stock 18" wheels/tires, but the larger (245/40 & 275/40) A/S rubber should stick OK year round, and the gunmetal rims should help hide all the brake dust, besides looking Way nice (they're also lighter than the stock rims, and so help compensate for the heavier tires).

Added a K&N drop-in almost as soon as I got the Z, cargo nets to keep things from flying around, a couple of organizer thingies with pockets and flaps to hold the little stuff you accumulate when traveling. I've got but haven't yet installed a window mesh kit (instead of tinting) to help with the UV, and will also be installing the equivalent of a HyperGround harness to make the car electronics happy before I install my ham rig.

I'll chip it when I can, maybe supercharge it later, but I expect it'll stay mostly stock.

to date I've got a set of 19's on it. I'm friends with the owner of a major chip developer. Trying to sweet talk him into developing a chip for the Z and using me as the ginuea pig.... we'll see

Arent those rims too thin, 7.5" or do they come in bigger widths? Plus arent ADR kinda cheap for the 350Z. I wouldn't even put them on a civic. Just my opinion though.

17"s are way too small for the Z, the gap will be huge. Have you seen the stock 17's on the Z. They are really small looking. If your gonna get TE-37's get the 19's made for the Z.

Ya..I've seen those. They're nice..but they'd slow down the Z a lot. 19's too big...the most I'd go would be 18".

At least go 18 if you can't go 19. Going 19's won't slow down the Z that much that you will notice. Especially if you go with a shorter side wall on the tire. Just remember to size your tires so the ABS and other stuff work properly.

what's with you folks thinking a set of 19's will slow down the Z?? providing that the outside diameter of the tires is the same or close to stock, the gearing will not change.

As for mass rotational inertia.... a good set of 19's with low profile tires will have the same if not less than the mass of the 17's with tall tires.

I would definalyt go with 17's on a 350z. the 19's i think would take away from ride quality, and handling. you would get better gas mileage too with smaller weals. less rotational weight. i've seen the 350z with 17's and it doesnt look bad at all. if i had my choice i'd probably get the nismo wheels in gunmetal, 17"....if nto those than volk te37 in 17 inch form.

one more thing, how will a set of 19's (larger diameter, more material) weigh less than a set of 17's (less diameter, less material)???? the only way i can see this is if you get really expensive lightweight 19's and cast iron 17's.

There's a clear thinkin man ;) ....but I'd still like to see the Z in some 17" Volks.

I've seen the Nismo wheels (5 spoke?) they don't look half bad...they look a lil like the 5zigen Copse's..

Pictures people...post your pictures :)

Actually with the right tires, 19" wheels on the Z will provide a better ride than 18's, and slightly harsher than the 17's. However, with lightweight wheels you'll get better handling, and acceleration than stock wheels. Volk TE-37's in 19" for the Z are lighter than the stock 18" AND 17" wheels.
