Hi guys,
This is starting to get me down, the engine starts and idles fine but digs in as soon as you let the clutch out, no power at all. I have changed igniter, distributor including cap and leads, new plugs, air flow meter, fuel pump also been changed, fuel through return line is about 500 mil in 30 seconds. Can anyone offer some clues on this problem please. Car has done 203,000 kms
Regards. Ian

Try checking basic timing. Should be 10 deg below TDC. Check EGR system. Check for vacuum leaks at intake manifold and vacuum hoses. Welcome to the forum.

Thankyou RIP, I have been though all of that and more as this car has LPG and immobiliser, either can cause trouble.
Problem solved, turns out my used distributor I bought has a crook coil.
So take note of symtoms ie. starts and idles good but stumbles if you give it a quick rev from idle but once the revs get up around 2000 it will happily rev.
As soon as you put the slightest load on it, it dies. No guts in the spark.
Hope this is helpful to someone else.
Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

Good to hear you're back on the road. Thanks for posting the fix. Does LPG = Liquid Petroleum Gas? Didn't know 89s had that option. Then again the US has been lagging behind in that area for years. Cheers!
