After 500miles, engine roar like a mustung(110k audio clip), damaged engine?

After 500 miles continus driving on last Friday, the engine is obviously much louder than before, it just like a Mustung's roar . Here is the audio I recorded:
http://web.umr.edu/~yy6yd/96Camry_loud_engine.WAV
At first it is in idle, then I step on the accelerate padel. Is this knock, metalic or something else? Now the dilemma is I have to drive 500 miles back soon. If the engine is damaged I am in trouble.
I checked the engine oil level when I just arrived, it was at the minmun line(leaking). Is this a cause? but I haven't seen the engine oil light come on. Or because I drove too fast (80mph for a while) for the old car? After I add it up to full, it is the same.
Any thought is welcome, thank you very much in advance!

It's hard to tell from the sound clip but it may just be exhaust noise from a small hole in the exhaust system somewhere. Do you smell any exhaust sitting in the car at idle? You want to be aware of the possibility of getting carbon monoxide in the cabin if you have an exhaust leak. If it is an exhaust leak it will get progressively louder.
Keep an eye on the oil level. Don't let it get low but don't overfill either.
Unless the car is exhibiting driveability problems you should be fine driving back.

Yes, drive is fine, I hope it is a exhaust system leak, I will try to find it. Thanks!

my old 93 I4 had the exact same sound in your audio clip. It turned out to be a hole in the exhaust.
I fixed it and the car sounded so good!

Yes, exactly, it took me $130 (include tax) to put a new flex pipe on it in a decent shop. The engine is very quiet now, here is the audio I recorded, I hold the recorder about 5" above the battery with the hood open and the car was warm up. Thanks!!
