Fujimi E21 BMW Alpinadrawzer 03-10-2007, 07:37 PM Hi everyone! This is the first time i post a WIP in this forum! I am building a stunning E21 BMW Alpina from fujimi. The model is a bit old, so, a lot of pacience is required in the work. But this is a classic, and what a classic! So, is my job to do a clean and good build. Stay tuned! http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2712_103.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2715_243.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2717_123.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/img_3934_358_144.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2719_209.jpg zak78 03-10-2007, 07:52 PM Sweet, it's about time somebody else built this kit! I had it in the 80s and need to build it again. Any plans for color or anything? zak78 03-10-2007, 07:57 PM Go with the Alpina airdam over the Hartge one, by the way ;) drawzer 03-10-2007, 08:01 PM Sweet, it's about time somebody else built this kit! I had it in the 80s and need to build it again. Any plans for color or anything? I think i wil paint it black with the wheels painted in white. What do you think? zak78 03-10-2007, 08:47 PM I think i wil paint it black with the wheels painted in white. What do you think? My last 1:1 e21 was black, so you know I'm a big fan of the color scheme :). The car definitely needs chrome bumper trim though. How about an interior color? drawzer 03-10-2007, 08:51 PM Yes, the trim is going to be painted in chrome, about the interior i am thinking ia an semi gloss black. rallymaster 03-10-2007, 10:44 PM Nice project if I were you I would keep the rims in white, like the body. Phil drawzer 03-11-2007, 02:28 PM I've bought a 6 euros clear coat, this was a great buy because the coat have got a great shine on the portuguese sun! as you can see in the picture. By the way, the wheels are almost done! Stay tuned! http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2720_755.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2721_105.jpg deedlit 03-11-2007, 02:44 PM Old school Bimmer rocks :sunglasse What happend to the wheel arch, it seems deformed? drawzer 03-11-2007, 03:00 PM No, nothing is deformed... Maybe a shadow or someting? bhop73 03-11-2007, 04:18 PM I've never seen a shadow like that.. it seriously looks like the whole front end is deformed. You honestly don't see it in the pic? I mean, if you say it's not deformed, then it's probably just a bad photo. http://bhop73.com/stuff/dents.jpg drawzer 03-11-2007, 05:52 PM Sorry! This was a car i used to test the clear coat! Is not the model i am building! Sorry NOMADGAMER 03-11-2007, 11:09 PM don't scare us like that.... zak78 03-12-2007, 12:05 AM Wow, nice job on that wheel lettering so far. bhop73 03-12-2007, 02:56 PM Oh.. heh, heh.. that makes sense then. I was thinking it looked more like a 180sx or something anyway. drawzer 03-12-2007, 04:14 PM Oh.. heh, heh.. that makes sense then. I was thinking it looked more like a 180sx or something anyway. Yes, Its a 180sx  drawzer 03-12-2007, 06:15 PM Recently, i dont have much time, but today i have dry-fitted the chassis and body to see if i like it, but, instead, another question came into my head: what tipe of rims should i use? http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2724_200.jpg zak78 03-13-2007, 02:17 AM Regarding rims: I think you should use the spoked wheels without the disks, as shown on the front. You did a great job painting the disks, but an e21 needs deep-dished wheels. Those look very much like Alpina wheels. drawzer 03-18-2007, 02:14 PM Hello! I am back with some photos of my BMW :grinyes: I had a problem painting it, so i re painted it white. This weekend i had an asma problem, so, i can only continue the project next week... :uhoh: http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2738_756.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2747_110.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2749_841.jpg deedlit 03-18-2007, 02:20 PM http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2724_200.jpg I would also choose the spoke rims, they look great :) But , also, keep your cat away from your model, that's dangerous :grinyes: drawzer 03-18-2007, 02:41 PM I would also choose the spoke rims, they look great :) But , also, keep your cat away from your model, that's dangerous :grinyes: :lol::lol::lol: My cat knows if it ruins my model... :nono::nono::nono::nono: zak78 03-21-2007, 12:22 AM Dash is pleasingly accurate for an early e21. Center of the steering wheel should be black though ;) drawzer 03-21-2007, 04:14 PM The curios thing is that i dont have pictures of the interior of the car, so its funny to know that! drawzer 04-02-2007, 10:40 AM I have some fresh news! I have painted the interior rips in red to give them some color. What do you think? Should i keep them? Besides, I have made some seetbelts in the back. http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/6381/1002809yc2.jpg MR2_Lancer 04-02-2007, 11:13 AM The red looks good and old school, but im not sure how much i like it. By the way, the spoked wheels look better to me. ;) Very nice progress so far... voyageur 04-02-2007, 11:40 AM Definitely go for the Alpina rims w/o disks!!! I like the red stripes on the seats - but the rear seatbelts are WAY too wide. Keep it on! drawzer 04-09-2007, 12:06 PM New fresh progress! The back of the car is almost ready, the bmw logo misses, i will put it later. I also found some decals that simulate the blue stripe on the windshield to protect from the sun. http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2819_145.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2818_594.jpg zak78 04-09-2007, 03:46 PM Cool! Where did you find that window decal? drawzer 04-09-2007, 04:22 PM Its from the tamiya ford mustang. drawzer 05-08-2007, 02:38 PM Hello all! New progress here! I have repaired some damages that the model sufered, and primed it. Also, i've painted the wheels gold to see how they fit the car, i think they look gorgeous! http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/100_2932_194.jpg voyageur 05-08-2007, 04:39 PM I would've preferred the wheels in white. Gold wheels look only good on black cars IMO. drawzer 05-08-2007, 04:46 PM The bimmer is going to be painted in black! EHEH evil_hanzel 05-09-2007, 04:08 AM nice . i almost picked up that kit earlier for a dollar each. only thing is, the pillars are warped and there's a nasty crack in the roof. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
