What's the best place to find Fujimis 17 inch TE37? HLJ doesn't have em anymore and I need a set. Thanks for any help!

I got both of my sets at my local hobby shops. I even found a set at hobby lobby for like $6 dollars!

Unfortunately my hobby shop can't get em, I was just in there asking them. Is Hobby Lobby on the net?

No, Hobby Lobby is a chain of Hobby Stores along the same line as Michaels or AC Moores, except HL has better stuff.

Their website has coupons buy nothing much for an online store: http://www.hobbylobby.com

Doesn't Fujimi's Top Secret Skyline has TE-37s? I'm pretty sure it does. I don't know what size they are though.

Ok, I was just at Hobby Lobby and almost bought this Skyline kit called Top Secret. It has the TE-37's in it. I know because the box was open and the sprue said it. The model was like $29.99.

The Top Secret Skyline is an Aoshima kit, and the wheels are 19".

btw.. are you sure you want Fujimi wheels? They all come with big fat tires.

I DO want the Fujimi 17 inch ones. I'm going to be doing a scale version of my car.... or at least how I want my car to be. I plan on putting 16 inch TE37s on my car so the Fujimi 17 inch should be pretty close to what I'm going for. I know what the Fujimi 17s look like and that's exactly what I want. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been searching the net with no luck so far. I might end up just having to wait and see if they get re-issued. Even if someone has a set they're willing to part with, that'd be great.

Rainbow 10 has some Fujimi TE37's in stock, not sure about the size though.. (do a search.. on the left "Go to Search" for TE37)
http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html (edit: I think they're the black 18" versions)

I have some Fujimi 18" versions that look more like 17's to me.. I painted them gunmetal and don't have the decals that came with them, or the original box.. if you're interested in them, I am willing to give them up, just pm me. You can see them here (I replaced them with spare Aoshima 19's): http://www.bhop73.com/main/images/models/popups/auto/350z/350z01.jpg

I picked up 19" TE-37's at Hobby Lobby and HLJ shows 18" and 19" avaliable but the 17" are discontinued.

There was a Fujimi BNR32 Top Secret Skyline in white that had TE37's, also I had the Mine's Lancer Evo. V and for some reason it came with TE37's.

EDIT: The kit is the Signal Auto BNR32, and from the boxart it looks like it comes with TE37s, as to whether or not fujimi got the wheels right for this kit who knows.

Yea I know what you mean. I bought some TE37's for my Revell Honda Civic Hatchback. I was gonna paint the rims Green, and fit em onto the Civic but when I tested them out on the car, they were too big, TOO TOO big. Then I thought, what would these rims look good on? Theyre too big! And I tried them on most of my models and they ARE a little too big for ALL of the models I had. They should make em from 15's to 18's. 19's and above are just too big. Good luck finding em. If you do end up finding some, post the site, I'd like to get my hands on some.

The 19's are not too big if you put them on a car that can handle 19's. Would you see 19's on a Civic in reality? No. These wheels are supposed to be made to scale, so why would you try to put 19's on your model Civic? They fit perfectly on Skylines, 350z, Silvias, RX-7s, most other 'bigger' cars. I have a set of the Aoshima 19's on my Tamiya 350z right now and it looks like it was made for the car.

Of course, having said that, it seems that all the newer wheels that are coming out these days are huge wheels. It's like Fujimi and Aoshima forgot that there are compact cars out there too.

energon

I agree. 19s definately fit Skylines Sylvias, 350Zs, Supras, etc. So there ARE cars that they fit. The car I'm doing though is a 3rd gen. Prelude. It's a 89, but will be a 91 when I'm done. So I DO need the 17s, 16s would be better, but no one makes scale 16" TE37s. At that scale I figure 17" is close enough. Thanks for all the input guys!

the aoshima 19's seem more like 20 or 21" and they are too big, even on supras etc with stock body. They look decent when the kit has a body kit

another thing to add is that the revell civic is a 1/25 scale so the 19 aoshima would seem like bling bling wheels on there

Yea. I tried them on the civic. And were too big. But I also tried it on a silvia and still looked too big. I dunno, maybe its me. But yea it be soo good to see some 17s or 16's out there. Not many 16,17 scale wheels look good. All the cool looking wheels are like 19 and stuff.

Yup! Those are the 18". I think what's confusing people is that Fujimi's new release of the 18s are the same color that the 17s were.

On the note about 17 inch Te37's what kind of rims are these?

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=91529&page=6

Willimo has the on the red civic hatchback.
They look like TE37's but are small enough to fit a civic.

Are they TE37's or am I wrong?

energon

Those ARE the Fujimi 17 inch TE37s. Those are the ones I am looking for. That's one of my favorite builds of his. He did an awesome job on that civic. It almost looks real.

willimo

Those are the Fujimi ones. Fujimi only made one size of TE37s, they are the smaller 17" ones (though they claim 18"). Aoshima made a set of 19" TE37s, with the offset and all that. Aoshima kits with TE37s have those, Fujimi kits with them have the smaller ones. The ones linked above, available at HLJ, are them. Any TE37 by Fujimi will be the smaller ones you want, regardless of what box they're in.

Actually, Fujimi made 17" and 18"; I had both sets at one time but now I only have the 18" set that will go on a Lancer or something...maybe...:dunno: I just need to quit my job and build models!:(
