They say location is everything. I'm tending to agree.

Been having problems with my 86 caravan 2.6. Seems to be temperature related. Looking at the water box there seems to be a small sensor (light)
and a ported vacuum switch (to vacuum advance}. The vacuum switch was one possibility another was the coolant temperature sensor. They had the sensor so I got it. Problem is there is no CTS mentioned in the manual for
the 2.6. I had a 84 New Yorker with the same motor and I seem to remember it being in a weird place. Anyone real familiar with this one. Could I have a part that I dont even have on the truck? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks

Location of Coolant temperature sensor?

The sensor on the radiator is for the fan.

Manual says CTS on all vans all located by thermostat bell housing.

Getting sick to go back in time, your van has a carb, a mechanical fuel pump, not much in electronic stuff.
The Haynes manual shows the vacuum hose diagram.

Thanks Bernard. It is a simple set up and I knpw its either the ported vacuum switch that advances the timing or this switch that I cant seem to locate.

If you come acrossed anything about whether it has a CTS send it my way. Thanks again
