Ok here is my question. I will be driving my carright. Then all of a sudden when the car is warm and I have been driving ok. Then when i come to a stop light and te RPM gauge is steady at 1rpm it will fluctuate up and down constantaly making the engine jump only when I come to a stand still. What could be the problem here. I as told ther eis a little plastic thing that is in the back of the throttle body that comes lose sometimes. Is that the problem maybe I have to tighten that. Can someone let me know please. I am losr

you dont have a carb, your car is FI. the first thing everyone says is the IACV gets dirty and sticks making your car do what you described. from your post, though, it sounds to me like you dont know anything about cars so i would suggest taking it to a mechanic and see what he says.

wait...sorry...ignore my post....my RPM's dipped down so i adjusted the little knob-thing up. but i have had the problem your talking about....im not sure what it is really.....i just changed my oil and got into a couple car accidents and it went away.

it can also be low water... I know that sounds crazy but I have done it before on purpose... and it does the exact same thing!!! when the water can't flow through the intake manifold it gets confused and tells the computer that it is cold out side to turn on the warm up mode like when you crank your car in the winter and it revs up its the same thing except its just faked off because the sensor is not working properly.....

You can also do a search in the forums because there have bean a few people post questions about his problem before... I think one was called Idle Jumping? :)

maybe the timing, or one of the air hoses are leaking maybe? :bandit:
