Bewildered By DinoDidge 86 2.6moez1010@yahoo.com 03-04-2007, 01:57 AM The manual has plenty on the 2.2, 2.5, and 3.0. as far as what controls the advance on the spark. Fancy computers and such. This 2.6 does not have a whole lot to it. Auto zone has a part location for and Engine control computer but what is there hasn't been controlling anything as the vaccum lines have been diconnected before I got the van. The vans run fine without them so I cant see that being the problem. Anyone that can help with a location of a computer. Perhaps a sensor gives a signal to something directly in the distributor. These motors were used in a lot of Dodge and Chryslers. Any help is surely appreciated. Im going to trace the wires from the sensors and see where they go now. No disrespect to the the guys who tried to help yesterday 86 must have been one of those weird years. Must be the pretty sister cause mine's a plain Jane. Nothing fancy. Not a whole lot of the extra stuff. That year there were the LE SE and me the plain Jane Caravan. Appreciate the reply Thank you. Been looking through the manual trying to find what i'm missing. Instead of looking the thing over real good. ijunson suggested vacuum so i started at the Dist and worked backwards and came to what im thinking is the the thermovalve noted in the Emission Section. 3 vacuum lines connected to a temperature type prob in the Engine right by the temp light switch. As the truck starts fine and backfires when it's warmed up like clockwork. Im thinking that the short I had may have burned the element and its not opening. if not that i'll try something else. Still less stress than teenagers. Thanks again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
