remote start programming

Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out here. I had a remote starter installed in my '02 f250 right after I got it ( late 2001 ). It has worked flawlessly until yesterday. I was messing around with it at a buddy's house and I believe I may have accidentally possibly reprogrammed it....or maybe even wiped out its program somehow. Let me try to explain what I did. My buddy had locked his keys in his f-250 while it was running, and I told him that my truck wouldn't let me do that , and proceeded to show him how my lock would unlock itself if I tried to lock the door with the switch on the door while my truck was running ( I knew my truck did that, but it was the first time I actually tried it). Anyway, after I messes around with the remote button a few times, I noticed that I could no longer keep my truck running and remove the keys like I should be able to. The key fob still works....kinda.....when I press the lock and unlock buttons...the doors lock and unlock just like they should....but.....now when I do this I get a horn beep when the locks go up and down...didn't used to do that....I used to only get the horn beep if I pressed the button a second time, like a confirmation beep. When I press the remote start button I get two quick beeps, but it doesn't try to start. I used to get one beep....then it started. If it makes a difference, the "panic" button still does what its supposed to. I've already tried disconnecting the truck's batter for about 10 min......didn't fix it. I don't remember the brand name of the remote starter that I had installed, but the fcc ID on the key fob is goh-four, and I believe it's made by Code, I found a replacement remote online that looked exactly like mine, and it was labeled as a Code replacement fob. Sorry I was so long winded, hope I explained myself clearly enough that somebody can point me in the right direction.

My guess it's a CodeAlarm unit especially if it was installed at your Ford dealer. I'd need to know what the model number is. You may have got it into valet mode if it has one. Some RS units allow you to shut off the remote start function altogether.

Ponchonutty, thanks for your reply. I was able to take the truck back to the place that installed the r/s. The tech looked under the dash, saw a red LED flashing, and promptly turned my ignition to the "on" position, and then hit the unlock button on the key fob.....problem solved. Apperantly I had accidentally got it into the "valet mode" by accident.

no problem. Yeah I hate Valet mode for remote starters. I get more and more calls with people getting them into valet thinking the product is screwed up.
