Progress: Ferrari F430tonioseven 02-23-2007, 02:11 PM Hey. This is another one I'm building for the tribute group build. I'm somewhat of a secret Ferrari-lover; I always felt that they were overrated(please don't flame me, I'm entitled to my own opinions) but I finally had to give in to the dark side. This build will not be red, nor will any Ferrari I build. It will have a few modifications though. The driver's side mirror wanted to visit the sewer system via the kitchen sink so I decided to use the mirrors from the Pennzoil GT-R with the mounting plates from the HKS Silvia. The wheels are modified Kranze Borphes that will be stripped and treated to some Alclad. There were a few sinkmarks that caught my attention but overall the kit is pretty good. I'm not sure about color choices yet but that will come eventually. Thanks for reading all of the blabbering.:) http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/7392/f430-1.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3411/f430-2.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/2697/f430-3.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/860/f430-4.jpg ales 02-23-2007, 02:28 PM Welcome to our side :evillol: Great choice of subject, may I suggest Grigio Silverstone, it looks awesome in that. I take it it's a Fujimi kit? stryfe101 02-23-2007, 02:29 PM Looking good man, I like the "all my Ferraris will not be red" thats the way mine will be too, unless I build the Mythos Concept I've got sitting around too(which the first one I built when I was 13 was dark green). I like the wheel choice on this, I feel that modern Ferraris need a little "lip" to make em look just right. Keep up the great work Gray robrex 02-23-2007, 03:22 PM This should be great! It's nice to see some exotics coming out of your workshop! KevHw 02-23-2007, 04:59 PM Will be following this closely as I'm soon to start my Revell F430. Don't tell me you're gonna use those NISMO brakes with the Ferrari....just seems so wrong to me :p . Shame about the mirrror. slk320 02-23-2007, 05:37 PM Wow, another Ferarri - I am impressed! Great to see you working again. Purpura Delujo 02-23-2007, 11:03 PM Looks nice mate, I completely relate to your opinion dont worry you're not alone hahaha. I don't want to paint any of my Ferrari models red but I may have to for my 288 GTO (only colour they came in). tonioseven 02-25-2007, 12:43 PM Hi. After a bit of work, the body is in primer... http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/2674/f430-5.jpg http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/453/f430-6.jpg This kit will take some work but that's part of the fun of building, isn't it?! :smokin: There will be more progress as I get time. I'll probably do the interior next while I wait for my cf decals that will be used in the engine compartment. Thanks :) Zonda 02-25-2007, 01:36 PM off to a great start! i love how you modded the borphes, looks more of a ferrari design now. deedlit 02-25-2007, 01:38 PM I feel it's gonna be another impressive build from you Tonio :bigthumb: white97ex 02-25-2007, 10:36 PM looking good as always tonio. I can't wait to see what the side mirrors look like. primera man 02-26-2007, 01:12 PM I'm sure its going to look great auw12 02-27-2007, 05:22 AM That's great! Very clean body works so far! Look forward to see more! tonioseven 02-27-2007, 12:34 PM Hi. The idea of a green Ferrari has always fascinated me; so I'm going to build one... http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9383/f430-8.jpg http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/7602/f430-7.jpg The color is a Ford ( ) color from Plastikote. The clear needs to be rubbed out but I like it. Thanks :) stryfe101 02-27-2007, 01:44 PM very nice!!! I was thinking of doing my Daytona in a green color, but I've decided on a dark metallic blue with a red interior. Looking great so far man. Gray slk320 02-27-2007, 09:49 PM That color is VERY nice on that car. I don't care if its a Ford OEM color...I like it. Jamme 02-28-2007, 01:32 AM I like the green color! Nice job, Jamme Wheelin75r 02-28-2007, 04:19 AM I'm sure those rims will look verry hot with the green body :naughty: Will those Nismo brake-discs be used also? RallyRaider 02-28-2007, 06:53 AM I like what you've done with the Kranze Borphes rims Tonio. They should suit the Ferrari very well modified like that. The green looks great and will really make it stand out from the crowd. :) tonioseven 02-28-2007, 07:14 AM Thank you, guys.:) I'm thinking about using those brakes but I also just found a stash of SAS PE brakes that I had hidden away so I may add those. So far this kit is giving me no problems but I'll keep a wary eye open ;). I am working out the details for the interior now and should hopefully have progress on it soon. I want to do the Spider but I think I'll go with the Fujimi version when the time comes; I'm waiting for a 365GTB and a 512BBi to arrive first. Thank you guys!:sunglasse vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
