98 Jgc Quits After Muddy Pullmarktruck 02-21-2007, 09:23 PM Hi everyone, I have a problem, I pulled A trailer out of some weeds /bushes with a chain for about 20'. After I stopped The motor shut down and now won't start. It doesn't seem to have any power to the fuel sending unit or the fuel pump I can't find any wires loose at the fuel pump, but it has 178000 miles so I changed it anyway . I did find the wires pulled out of the oxy. sensor on the cat.but the wireing harness seems to be ok.I put in new relays & checked all the fuses I could find in the kick plate & under The hood. I got A complete sevice manual from jeep for My model which may take a year to understand what the problem could be. I have some machanical ability rebuildt a few motors, changed clutches, trans, brake jobs on My own stuff I have 11 cars / trucks. but MY 98 JGC is the Baby girl of the bunch. Any ideas what could be wrong ?,can the PCM go out like that ? I think oxy. sensor wires have been off for a long time cause the cel has been on for some time.My son has been driving it for the last 2 years, but it was running great until this happened. Thanks, marktruck Mud_Limo 02-28-2007, 12:33 PM check the fuel pump fuses/relays, then make sure that none of the wiring harnesses to the fuel pump/sending unit caught something and disconnected. does the engine crank over when you turn the key, or does it just sit there and mock you silently? marktruck 03-04-2007, 04:56 AM (check the fuel pump fuses/relays, then make sure that none of the wiring harnesses to the fuel pump/sending unit caught something and disconnected. does the engine crank over when you turn the key, or does it just sit there and mock you silently?) It turns over good & checked all that, I think We figgerd it out (see my post about installing a PCM. Thanks, marktruck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
