I have a 95 JGC with all time 4WD - when turning I get a popping noise - doesn't affect steering but simply makes popping noise - any ideas what to look for

Probably one of your front CV axles going south. Look for a ripped boot, that's usually where the troubles begin.

Needs a front axle and look for torn boots. My advice, get a reman axle instead of replacing the boot and you will save time doing this.Stay away from Advanced for axles,I have heard nothing but problems with their axles.I know a guy that went through 6 axles for his Dodge Neon and did get them from Advanced.

I just did a cv replacement, not too bad. The only tool I needed to get was a 36mm socket and just a regular socket set. If you look in the posts there is already a thread on this.
