hood wont stay downjohnnybate 02-19-2007, 11:38 PM 91 s10 blazer sport recently my hood will pop up on its own. the latch is the only thing keeping it from flying up and at me through the windshield at the moment. the plastic handle inside seems to work, but i fear something may not be holding the hood down properly. but what could it be? this started being a problem tonight, considering the snow, and the 15* night, i figured i would ask here now, and take a better look in the morning, but i appreciate anyone's insight thanks jb Chris Stewart 02-20-2007, 08:47 PM Check and make sure the hood pin is going far enough into the latch to get locked. There's a thick piece of spring wire that locks the hood pin. The pull cable is connected to one end of it and the other end is anchored. Sounds like it's sticking so giving it a shot of penetrating oil and working it with the pull cable should let it get back to it's normal position. muddog321 02-21-2007, 04:52 AM Or could be as simple as snpw/ice along the edges and the hood never fully closes - each front corner has an adjustable hood stopper also. ericn1300 02-21-2007, 09:15 PM I heard the Viagra sponsered NASCAR team has the same problem. agcneo 02-23-2007, 05:21 PM sorry this is way off subject, but i love that viagra team comment! thats funny! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
