I am looking at purchasing a 97 metro, but the owner claims it has a broken a frame, can this be repaired? and if it can how difficult of a repair is it? Thanks for your help

is it broken or rusted? either way i would pass, if its rusted them rest of car will be rusty. if its broken someone wrecked the car and chances are other things are bent

Rusted out?.....My :2cents: says it's NOT worth the effort to "Attempt" to fix the sub frame correctly...Avoid this car unless you own another 97 donor Metro in good shape needing parts and he's selling the car "Dirt Cheap"! It's probably seen alot of road salt in it's time.....It's now a parts car only! If you own a Metro and it see's alot of road salt in the winter....Better keep the underside washed and cleaned on a regular basis.....The Metro parts cars I see for sale on E-Bay often suffer from the same thing and reason for selling them.....Sub frame has rusted out and broken in the suspension or drivetrain mounting area's. My last 94 Metro 2Dr got beaten up badly in a BAD hail storm last summer (Golfball to Softball size hail) but it was a Southern TN car all it's life....When I stripped the car and removed the gas tank in it before it was taken off to the crusher at the boneyard.....The underside was still totally rust free!
