I'm looking into making some Interior parts for my car out of Carbon Fiber. In order to do this, I need to get some Carbon Fiber sheets, but I don't know which kind to get. I've seen different thicknesses and some that are double sided, and some that are adhesive backed. Any suggestions?

Sorry about that, might not be believable but I totally forgot that there was a sub-forum for interior/exterior. haha. But as for Google, yes, I did a search and I usually got results on buying carbon fiber things, and just random results with "Carbon Fiber" included in the subject line or description. Thats why I came here. :)

It seems like you don't need anything too thick for the insides. As long as it's thick enough to hold shape and not dent easily.

I was looking into doing some carbon fiber work on my Talon and I had found a few good sites, but they're bookmarked on my other computer at home. IIRC, it's not exactly the easiest thing to do. You can fuck it up really easily and to get it to come out looking decent takes alot of work.

Laying CF is just like laying fiberglass. If you want it to look good, its going to take a bunch of fudging around, but its doable. Like 4 years back, I was going to do a bunch of the interior of my Cavy in carbon fiber and it seems to me that I had several site that you could buy it by the yard. It was a long time ago now, and a few months ago Garrett was talking about how had it is to get a hold of now.

Me + google = FTW :p

Linky #1 (http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Aluminized%20and%20Black%20Fiberglass-132.html) - Just fiberglass carbon look alikes, but who cares? You wont need the strength of carbon anyway, not for interior shit.

Linky #2 (http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Carbon%20Fiber%20(Graphite)%20Fabrics%20&%20Tapes-15.html) - Real deal, but more expensive and looks the same.

Linky #3 (http://stores.ebay.com/MSM-Industries) - I think its the real deal and its cheap as shit. I think I might pick some of that up once I have some money, I bet I could make a few pretty badass things with that shit.

You have gotten me interested. Bastard. I think I would make stuff completely out of carbon fiber though, not just cover it. Hmmmmmm.....

If you don't lay it right, it'll look hazy and have bubbles in it. You should use a vacuum pump to get all the bubbles out of it and it's supposed to cure in a hot area...blah blah blah...it was awhile ago I did all this reading on it, and if I can find the link, I'll surely post it.
