Ferrari 250 SWBMartsmodels 02-13-2007, 05:33 PM Hi - Here's a 250 SWB that I completed some time ago. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/P6010001.JPG I got a bit tired of painting Ferraris red (don't we all?) so decided to do this one as the Rob Walker car that Stirling Moss won the Tourist Trophy race in at Goodwood in 1961. It's a 1/24 Italeri kit and for this particular car had to be converted to RHD by remaking the dash and chopping the firewall and re-arranging the inner wings and footwells. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/Ch1.jpg Hope you like her http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/P6010005.JPG http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/P6010002.JPG http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/P6010004.JPG http://webzoom.freewebs.com/martsmodels/goodwood.jpg (Moss leading Mike Parkes through the chicane) Cheers Veyron 02-13-2007, 06:08 PM Lurve that version! bhop73 02-13-2007, 06:34 PM Awesome! Are those the kit wheels? AmazonSprite 02-13-2007, 07:40 PM Wow, that looks great! Never seen one of these built before - how good is the kit, and how much, if anything, did you need to modify (apart form the rhd conversion!)? ZoomZoomMX-5 02-13-2007, 07:40 PM Sweet :sunglasse Dear Revell/Italeri, pleasepleasepleaseplease reissue this one! auw12 02-14-2007, 03:08 AM That's damn beautiful!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! Same question on the wheels. Sweet :sunglasse Dear Revell/Italeri, pleasepleasepleaseplease reissue this one! This is what I'm thinking of. gionc 02-14-2007, 03:25 AM Fantastic! I like also the poster, original touch. Martsmodels 02-14-2007, 09:29 AM Sorry forgot to mention the wheels. They are from MG Models - I ordered them from Icaro (http://www.icarohobbies.com/) and just sent them an email telling them what car I was doing (total was about £13 ($24-ish) inc p&p). The wheels came ready made up and just needed the stub axles modifying a little to adapt them. Only changes to the body were to take off the Pininfarina plinths on the wings, alter the front and rear valances to remove the bumper mountings and scratch a quick release filler. p.s. I believe Testors do (or did) this kit - I got this one via ebay from Germany and have never seen another apart from a built street version on another forum. dmacb 02-14-2007, 06:51 PM Very well done. I've never seen an Italeri SWB on the Bay ales 02-15-2007, 12:26 AM This is one beautiful model of a gourgeous Ferrari. Thank you for sharing. klutz_100 02-15-2007, 01:06 AM Great job Martin  I was lucky enought to pick up the ESCI "Rally" version (as they called it IIRC) version of the Moss car for 5GBP on eBay but I sold it on as TBH the kit looked awful! :( I still have two of the Italeri kits in my stash though :D Last week I was lucky ebough to see the SWB in 1/1 and I have to say it was even more beautiful in real life than I already thought it was. Gorgeous! drooooool nniemi 02-15-2007, 02:52 AM Very good work replicating this important Ferrari! I must say that replacing those awful Italeri "wirewheels" really adds to the result! -Niko Thegs 02-15-2007, 05:48 AM Sweet :sunglasse Dear Revell/Italeri, pleasepleasepleaseplease reissue this one!
