2001 GC Oil Pressure sendershorod 02-12-2007, 02:08 PM My co-worker's 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 4.7L V-8 has a problem with the oil pressure reading on the guage. Often at idle, the guage would read 0 psi, but as soon as he came off idle, the pressure guage jumped up. Now, the guage is reading 0 psi almost constantly. The oil looks fine and the engine is not making abnormal sounds, so I suspect a faulty sending unit/sensor. My OTC Genisys scan tool claims the sending unit is on the upper portion of the engine near the distributor. However, his engine has CoP ignition, no distributor, and after a quick look, I didn't see anything on the top half the engine that I thought was the sending unit. Would anyone be so kind as to tell me where the sending unit can be found on the 2001 4.7L? -Rod Scrapper 02-12-2007, 02:13 PM most of your oil sending unit is not far from your oil filter..good luck.... shorod 02-12-2007, 10:15 PM That was my thought, so I was surprised when the scan tool mentioned near the distributor. I only glanced under the hood in the work parking lot, haven't climbed under it yet. -Rod vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
